St. Gregory's Footprints

 Sports

A majority of Young Adults enjoy sports and other athletic activities. In the Footprints Group, we participate in a variety of sporting activities.

                                                               Volleyball

Monthly volleyball is now being held on the 1st Friday of each month in the St. Gregory's School Gymnasium.  As one may expect, the games are in a relaxed atmosphere and newcomers are always helped along in how to play the game. At around 11pm on Volleyball night, the group gets together for a moment of fellowship and prayer.

The next Volleyball will likely be in March, tentatively set for Friday, March 4th at 8pm in the Gym. We will be continuing with the tradition of Rap Session prior to Volleyball (Some of you may remember when Father David used to do Rap Sessions with the Footprints Group). The Rap Session is an opportunity to discuss various morality issues in today's contemporary Catholic Church and questions that all young adults may encounter in day to day life. Get some feedback from your peers as well as the guidance of Deacon Gino Aceto. Topic will be posted as soon as I find out.

The Rap Session will be held in the Gym and Volleyball will follow the discussion around 9pm. Please bring snacks or beverages for all to share in between games. Come on out for an evening of fun, fitness and fellowship!

                                   Touch Football

Touch Football  is also a popular sport during cooler weather and during Football Season. We meet and play out at Seminole Park in Plantation, which is located at 6600 SW 16th Street, in Plantation.

The Footprints Group plans to meet at Seminole Park rescheduled for: Saturday, January 22nd at 10am. Look for the Footprints Group playing in a large grassy area of the park, along with red cones marking the boundaries of the football field. Make sure to bring water or gatorade to prevent dehydration. The weather should be cooler, climatology speaking, at this time of year. Come on out and have some fun.

Directions to Seminole Park (marked by yellow line): Take University Drive to Peters Road. Go east on Peters Road. One will go over a small bridge, after this bridge, make a right onto Fig Tree Lane. Go south on Fig Tree Lane to stop sign. Turn right onto SW 16th Street. Seminole Park will appear on your left. Make a left into the park entrance. Once you enter the park, look to your right for red / orange cones and a group of Young Adults playing Touch Football.
